The 2-day Spring Edition of Plantarium|Groen-Direkt has come to a close. It was a lively and bustling event, with eager buyers from across Europe and beyond filling the halls the moment the doors opened at 7:00 AM, all keen to secure the best deals for the upcoming season. Our BPnieuws reporter also visited the International Trade Centre Hazerswoude/Boskoop to capture the event in a photo report.

Buyers in the early morning
Buying and networking
After the initial buying rush, checking out the 5,000 sample lots from 500 growers at Groen-Direkt's adjacent sample fair, visitors took their time to explore the various stands, networking and discovering what else the season has in store. In addition to an impressive selection of woody plants, the fair also showcases a vibrant array of spring and green plants.
'Keen on Conifers'
Among the standout picks, Mr. Plant Geek has made his stance clear: conifers deserve more love! Partnering with Liesbeth van Woudenberg of Bremmer Boomkwekerijen, he showcases potted conifers as a fresh and stylish option for gardens and balconies alike. "They're versatile, evergreen, and incredibly underappreciated," he said.
Guided tours with a touch of British humor
Three times a day, Mr. Plant Geek leads engaging tours through the exhibition, enthusiastically highlighting his top selections. Whether it's demonstrating 'football-proof' ornamental grass—ideal for households with energetic children—or encouraging attendees to take a deep inhale of a particularly fragrant plant, his tours are as informative as they are entertaining.
A positive outlook
The atmosphere on the exhibition floor was very optimistic. "Everyone is eager to buy," said an exhibitor, while Marvin from XL&Green echoes the sentiment: "The market remains reasonably healthy, and there's supply. Loyal customers keep returning, although attracting new clients can sometimes be a challenge."
