Combatting spider mites hotspots at the earliest stage

"The fight against spider mites takes another step forward", the team with Koppert says as they announce the launch of Spidex Vital Go. Spidex Vital Go offers growers a new way to combat spider mites hotspots at the earliest stage.

Spidex Vital Go utilizes sachets containing Phytoseiulus persimilis, a predatory mite that targets the destructive two-spotted spider mite. Unlike conventional solutions, Spidex Vital Go allows these beneficial mites to multiply within the sachet, ensuring a sustained and consistent release throughout the crop during 2 weeks. "By applying the sachets at the first sign of spider mite presence or hotspot formation, growers can prevent severe infestations before they take hold."

Koppert says the solution offers a new level of control through its sachet-based system, allowing growers to precision target. "They can detect and address the very first signs of potential spider mite hotspots at critical locations", the team says, "Ensuring an even distribution of Spidex Vital Go across the greenhouse, creating a shield that suppresses spider mite infestations."

Stopping infestations early prevents them from escalating, and the sachet application is quick and efficient, reducing manual labour, the Koppert team explains. "Fewer predatory mites are lost by falling to the ground compared to loose material applications. All in all, Spidex Vital Go offers peace of mind by maintaining a consistent population of predatory mites in the crop. The sachets ensure predators are present over a 2-week period, making it difficult for spider mites to proliferate. Unlike bottled solutions, the sachets offer a time-efficient application that reduces labour costs while providing superior mite control."

Application is straightforward: simply the sachets near the first signs of spider mites or distribute them evenly across the crop during early infestations. Spidex Vital Go is also compatible with Spidex Vital bottles, making it a flexible and versatile tool for growers.

Born to fight
Spidex Vital Go predatory mites feed on spider mites. As they do, their color changes to a distinctive red-orange hue, offering a visible sign of their efficacy.
