For more than a decade, the Jardin des Plantes has been blooming even before the arrival of spring, thanks to Mille et une orchidées, a floral exhibition showcasing the delicacy and multiple colors of orchids. For several weeks, the garden's greenhouses will be home to several species of orchid, whose colors and lines will interact with the surrounding vegetation.
A must-see for botany enthusiasts, of course, but also a popular event for the general public, offering a welcome visual and sensory escape in the depths of winter.
From now until March 10, the Jardin des Plantes is getting into the spirit of spring, the season of flowers par excellence, one step ahead of schedule. A number of delicate orchids with astonishing shapes will be blending in with the vegetation in the Jardin des Plantes tropical greenhouse. It's a chance to take in the beauty and refinement of these flowers at a glance, and to discover some of the 30,000 species of orchid on record.
A Thousand and One Orchids will showcase the richness of these flowers through spectacular staging, an itinerary and photographs that capture the very essence of these creations of nature.
