Middenweg Flowers, a grower of Irises since 2001, announces further expansion of its international cultivation activities. After successful winter cultivation in Spain since 2022, the company is now taking a step by also growing irises in Portugal. This makes Middenweg Flowers the first iris grower to source its flowers from three different countries.

Irises from Portugal
The choice of Portugal is based on its favorable climate, which is slightly cooler than in Spain. This makes it ideal for specific varieties, such as the exclusive "Decorum Only" Iris Claire's Delight, which requires a lot of sunlight but cannot stand too high temperatures. The first irises from Portugal have now been successfully delivered. With this expansion, the range grows by over 1 million stems. There are now 14 varieties of Iris available all year round and 6 varieties of Iris from the Paint Exclusive collection.
Striving for a more luxurious image
Middenweg Flowers remains committed to strengthening the image of the iris. Earlier, the company introduced a new logo and house style to emphasize the luxury and quality of the iris. It also expanded its cultivation area in Spain, which contributed to a year-round availability of 17 different varieties. These steps are crucial for Middenweg Flowers to increase the appreciation of iris in the market.
Appreciation for partners and customers
Murat and Can Kaya, founders of Middenweg Flowers, express their gratitude to all buyers and sellers who have contributed to the growth and improved image of iris. "Thanks to their continued commitment and offering our products to their customers, we are seeing steady growth in the demand for irises," Can Kaya said.
