EU warns of €28 Billion hit from Trump's new steel and aluminum tariffs

The European Union estimates that the first wave of import tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on steel and aluminum will impact up to €28 billion worth of EU exports. This figure is nearly four times higher than the tariffs introduced during Trump's previous term, as the new measures now include derivatives of steel and aluminum. Insiders disclosed this information to Bloomberg, as reported by BNR via ANP.

The newly announced tariffs will also affect the greenhouse and glasshouse construction sectors. Beyond increasing the cost of steel and aluminum, Trump's policies are creating uncertainty, which negatively impacts the investment climate.
