India" Bengaluru to get "International Standard" flower market

Agriculture Market Minister Shivananada Patil informed the Legislative Council that an international standard commercial flower market will be constructed in Bengaluru to promote the sale and export of flowers, with approximately 40,000 hectares of flower cultivation in the state.

During the question-and-answer session on Tuesday, responding to MLA C. N. Manjegowda's question, the minister stated that the government has decided to implement the market using its own funds or from the Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs), and necessary documentation has been submitted to the Finance Department.

The minister also mentioned that the development department has submitted Detailed Project Reports (DPR) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for establishing bio-CNG plants in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model at APMCs in Dasanapura, Mysuru, and Kolar.

Approval has been granted for constructing a well-equipped dried chili market in Raichur at a cost of ₹25 crores, and tenders have been invited for this project. A comprehensive project report has been submitted for constructing a state-of-the-art agriculture complex at a cost of ₹35 crores at the market located on Nellikai Road in Mangaluru, which is currently under review.
