On May 31, 2024, everything changed in Rob Veenstra's life. During a work trip in Japan, he fell down the stairs and suffered a high transverse spinal cord injury to his neck (C3). This tragic fall led to severe brain damage and blindness on his right side, rendering Rob unable to read.
Rob is currently rehabilitating. However, it is clear that walking and eating and drinking independently will never be the same. Rob will need 24/7 help with his motor skills and care for the rest of his life. To help Rob, a crowdfunding campaign has been launched to make the necessary adaptations in and around Rob and his family's home a reality.
The crowdfunding has been set up to fund the following essential adaptations and aids for Rob:
- **Bedroom including hoist and adapted shower/toilet**: €50,000
- **Invalid bus for mobility**: €30,000
- **Shed for storage of aids**: €25,000
- **Garden paving to get around independently by wheelchair**: €15,000
