Terra Nova Nurseries has revealed the latest addition to its Tempo™ series, Geum Tempo 'Fiesta'. The geum is known for its extended seasonal appeal, blooming reliably from April through June, with strong fall reblooming performance that delivers continuous color and visual interest throughout the growing season.
Tempo 'Fiesta' forms neat, compact mounds and produces bright yellow flowers accented by orange picotee rims, which contrast tastefully against lush, deep-green foliage, attracting hummingbirds and other pollinators. The new variety by Terra Nova adds lasting impact to edges, borders, and mixed beds and is excellent for pot culture.
'Fiesta' excels in both full sun and partial shade, and grows most actively in spring, reaching a height of 8", width of 17" and flower height of 17". Terra Nova's breeding team recommends allowing this perennial to dry moderately between waterings during finishing time in the greenhouse. Finishing growers can expect the finish time from a liner to a 4-inch pot to be 4-6 weeks; the finish time from a liner to a 1-gallon pot is 8-10 weeks. USDA Hardiness Zones for Terra Nova's latest Tempo variety are 5-9.
Terra Nova Nurseries has created a "Plant Profile" page and "Grower Recipe" specific to this new variety and others, so growers interested in orders can learn about growing habits, plant characteristics, fertilization recommendations, water requirements and other insights provided by the breeding team.
