It's that time of year again—Keukenhof is officially open! For the next 7.5 weeks, the park will once again come alive with a stunning display of daffodils, tulips, crocuses, and countless other vibrant flowers. There's no better way to kick off the Keukenhof season, with warm sunshine filling the air and giving us the perfect springtime vibe on Thursday morning.

Yellow and purple are unmistakably the first colors of the season, with daffodils, crocuses, and early hyacinths already in bloom. The park remains predominantly green for now, thanks to the many late-blooming flowers still waiting to make their debut. For the full burst of color, we'll need to be patient for a few more weeks, though it could happen any day now. Numerous suppliers have played a key role in preparing Keukenhof, contributing specially designed borders that showcase their unique flower bulbs.

Orchids and anthuriums
Various shows are being held in the different pavilions in the park. In the Oranje Nassau Pavilion, the flowers change weekly, the Willem-Alexander Pavilion features tulips, plants, and other flowers, and the Beatrix Pavilion hosts the orchid and anthurium show.
Jolanda Nieuwenhuijze from De Hoog Orchids was also at Keukenhof on opening day, proudly presenting the Nobile orchids they've supplied for the show. "Royal FloraHolland invited us to participate, and most growers are eager to join because it's the best platform to reach consumers," she shared. "While Phalaenopsis orchids dominate the market, Nobile is the second largest group. We've had to put in extra effort to give it the attention it deserves, and we're thrilled to be here. It's also great to connect with other growers. The real strength lies in the collaboration between orchid and anthurium growers, combining varieties that are still unknown to many consumers and garden centers. By bringing them together, we can give a boost to all orchids, not just the Phalaenopsis."

Bulb sales at Keukenhof
Every day, visitors flock to the Royal Park shop to purchase bulbs and place orders that will be shipped worldwide come fall. "Customers select their bulbs here, and we package them in September for October shipment," explains one of the shop's salespeople. "We do sell Amaryllis bulbs right on-site, and even though it's only the first day, we're already off to a strong start. Throughout the season, we see a steady stream of visitors every day." Frijlink & Sons focuses on consumer-oriented sales, offering pre-packaged options for customers to easily choose from.
