The owner of a flower farm in Augusta County is sharing her experience after her business was featured in a docuseries that was released March 7. Jessica Hall, owner of Harmony Harvest Farm, said the farm was contacted on social media to participate.
"Through sharing our stories on social media, a fellow flower farmer — Erin Benzakein, who runs Floret in the Skagit Valley in Washington state — reached out to us and said she was putting together this all-inclusive docuseries," Hall said.
The docuseries, called "The Beautiful Pursuit," is a three-part series that highlights the struggles and hardships of flower farming around the world as well as "how beautiful it is to flower farm as a profession," Hall said.
Hall said the series wanted to showcase the work Harmony Harvest does in the Valley and promote the flower farming industry. The industry is seeing a resurgence in domestic production, Hall said, when historically, about 80% of all flowers sold in the country are imported.
