New Zealand: Young Plant Producer finalists named for 2025

NZPPI has announced the finalists for the 2025 Young Plant Producer competition. The talented individuals vying for this recognition include Yuong Chaiyaklang, representing Plant Zone Direct and Tui Downs Nursery, and Johnnie Clay from Southern Woods Nursery. Also in the running is Kirsten Phillips-Ong, who hails from Plant and Food Research, alongside Ezra Alexander of GreenAir Ltd. Rounding out the list is Jake Linklater from Nova Trust. These finalists exemplify excellence and innovation in the plant production industry, showcasing the promising future of horticulture.

The event is being held on June 24 and 26 at Lincoln University and involves two challenge days followed by the awards dinner. The judges are lined up ready to ensure candidates have the best opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge of business operations, plant identification and propagation, biosecurity, production technology and more.
