China: 2025 World Paeonia Suffruticosa Conference to start on April 8

On March 28, The Korean Chapter Launch Ceremony of the 2025 World Paeonia Suffruticosa Congress commenced in Yeoju City, attended by Feng Yanli, Vice Mayor of Heze Municipal Government. As the global hub of Paeonia suffruticosa (tree peony) cultivation, Heze, Shandong Province, showcased its horticultural prowess.

Heze is located in Shandong province, China, and is home to Paeonia suffruticosa, which has 1,308 cultivated varieties. The sales of Paeonia suffruticosa in Heze exceeded 600,000 pot plants in 2024, accounting for 50% of China's domestic market. Since 2002, Heze has started exporting Paeonia Suffruticosa to Korea. It is understood that Korea has imported more than one million Paeonia Suffruticosa from Heze.

Yeoju is located in the center of Korea. Yeoju Mayor Lee Jae-woo said in his speech that he will lead a trade mission to visit Heze in April this year, hoping to take this opportunity to expand Paeonia Suffruticosa business opportunity between the two countries.

The 2025 World Paeonia Suffruticosa Conference will be held from April 8 to 11 in Heze and has a branch venue in Lizhou, South Korea. In 2009, the first World Paeonia Suffruticosa Conference was held. In 2023, it set up a branch venue in South Holland Province of the Netherlands, which shows many Paeonia Suffruticosa-related products, and helped Paeonia Suffruticosa enter to European market successfully. This year, the conference will attract professional experts and growers to Heze to discuss the potential possibilities.
