Dutch exporters are focusing on Europe now that the American market is becoming less attractive due to high trade tariffs. This is evident from research by Evofenedex and Atradius among hundreds of Dutch companies. As an example, CE-Line is mentioned in an article from the Financieele Dagblad.
The company exports testing equipment for water in horticultural greenhouses, has already shifted its focus to Asia. "In recent years, our growth market was in the United States because many greenhouses have been built there," says director Simon Meijer. He observes that customers there are hesitant due to uncertainty about import tariffs. "Now we are looking at markets such as China and Japan, where there is also demand. We had put those markets on hold because it's more complicated to do business there. But we will have to find our growth somewhere."
CE-Line opts for risk diversification and will open two pilot projects in Japan and China in the coming months. The company, which won the Future-proof Technologies Theme Award last month, is already making significant progress in the Netherlands and also has a water laboratory in the United States.
