"I treated 2000 sqm in just 1 hour, compared to 3 hours of spraying"

As the season just started at Gärtnerei Fürmsinn, these are busy times. The Austrian family company grows over 600 varieties: plants, flowers, and herbs, and sells these partly at their own facility. This is why owner Markus Dorner is always on the lookout for things to improve its cultivation, and the newly launched Unipro10 by Igeba is one of these solutions.

The machine was launched at IPM Essen. The fogger, which Kai Möllendorf with Igeba describes as a compact powerhouse, is designed for growers with a greenhouse area of up to 2500 sqm. The ULV device is equipped with 2 spray heads and has a maximum delivery rate of 30l/h. By utilizing their nozzle geometry, Igeba's Unipro10 generates droplets with a VMD (Volume Median Diameter) of 25 µm at an operating pressure of approximately 0.24 bar. "A prerequisite during fogging is closed windows, shut blinds, and no airflow or circulation. Many new customers to fogging discover 'leaks' in their greenhouse structure, which can obstruct the fogging process. Experience shows that foggers with strong turbine/blowers can be counterproductive to achieving an even distribution of the active ingredient in the fog, in our case, effective microorganisms/bacteria," Kai says.

With the current specifications, it fills the gap of space coverage between Unipro5 and Unipro40T. "The Unipro10 can cover up to 2500 sqm, while the Unipro5 can cover up to 1200 sqm, and Unipro40 up to 5000 sqm." A 6.5l tank for the automatic cleaning of the active ingredient line, for example, after nebulizing effective microorganisms (EM), is also included in the basic equipment. Using a dosing pump, you can program and control the delivery rate for each application.

The Unipro10 was developed in close collaboration with professional users from greenhouse plant cultivation and horticulture. And according to Markus Dorner, Owner of Gärtnerei Fürmsinn, it makes work extremely easy and quick. "I treated 2000 sqm in just 1 hour using the fogging process, which personally cost me barely any time at all. It would have taken me over 3 hours to spray the same treatment."

Since its launch at IPM Essen, sales have been in full swing. "The Unipro10 has broad potential and practically no limits," says Kai. "Its main current uses are in horticulture, for flowers of any kind, as well as in the production of mother plants, stems, and cuttings. But it's also suitable for vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, and many others." He adds that the USA has shown a high interest in bringing it to the market as soon as possible.
