How Wicked's production planted 9 million real tulips for Munchkinland

The upcoming Wicked film is making headlines for its set design, including the 9 million tulips planted to bring the Land of Oz to life. Director Jon M. Chu revealed in an interview with ABC News that when questioned about the necessity of planting so many tulips, the team responded, "Sorry, we already planted them."

In the interview. Chu emphasized the immersive nature of the set, which includes detailed recreations of the Emerald City, where visitors could walk through and explore shops and salons. The tulip-filled landscapes are part of the grand vision Chu described as a "spectacle on the grandest scale," fulfilling his lifelong dream of creating a cinematic masterpiece.
